Today’s headlines from Ed Drantch

This morning we are making sure people in power are doing what’s right. It’s part of our effort called Rebound Buffalo and this morning we discovered some Niagara County nursing homes don’t have enough protective equipment. They have enough to just get by. They are also concerned about testing and that not having enough tests to get an actual count of how many actual coronavirus patients they might have. The Niagara County Department of Health admits there is a shortage of testing kits that are available for nursing homes and they are trying to help with the equipment as much as possible but, ultimately, they need the State to step in.
Governor Cuomo says reopening New York State is going to be done in phases. Phase one will only happen after 14 straight days in drops in hospitalization for the coronavirus. The governor says schools will likely be part of phase two and at this point it is unclear if schools will actually open.
