Mel talks with the author of Game Changer, Neal Shusterman. He is a New York Times best-selling author and National Book Award winner. He says Game Changer is a story about learning empathy. The main character Ash’s life is altered every time he is tackled in his high school football games. He has these power tackles and they bounce him into alternate realities. He is a fairly oblivious white heterosexual male but in the course of the story he is going to have all of his notions of himself and the world challenged.
