This is the snacking time of year, whether it’s packing something special for the kid school lunches or having good food while watching football. Of course, that’s probably why February is National Snack Food Month, created in 1989 to raise awareness about snacking, and the importance of keeping it as healthy as possible.
In the spirit of healthy snacking, dietitian and New York Times best-selling author Frances Largeman-Roth is teaming up with Kemps Cottage Cheese to share tips and tricks for making the most out of snack time.
Frances says that kids snack two to three times a day and you want to maximize the snacks so they are just empty calories and they are getting important nutrients that they need for growth like calcium and protein. Most kids she says, don't like cottage cheese because of the texture so Kemps has developed the first of its kind, smooth cottage cheese with no curds. It's rich, creamy and delicious. How do you get kids to eat healthy snacks? Frances says you have to make it fun and delicious and nutritious. Kemps has made the packaging fun with Transformers, PJ Masks and other fun characters and it comes in delicious flavors.
