BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — On December 18, 7 ABC will wish "AM Buffalo" host Linda Pellegrino a happy retirement, after sharing 33 years of memorable moments with Western New York viewers.
Pellegrino started her broadcasting career in Rochester, at WHAM radio. She then moved to Buffalo and joined WBEN and WKBW radio, before making the jump to television.
Pellegrino worked at WUTV and Channel 31 in Rochester before signing on with WKBW-TV as a weatherperson and feature reporter. Soon after, she started appearing on AM Buffalo. Pellegrino has been on the air for more than 9,000 "AM Buffalo" shows.
In addition to her broadcasting career, over the years Pellegrino has volunteered with many local organizations including the Buffalo Animal Shelter, the Olmsted Conservancy, and Variety International. She also published a book about her experiences on and off camera, called "Still Smiling." She lives with her husband Bob in Cheektowaga. They have one son, Brett, a counselor.
As for "AM Buffalo," the show will continue, and the search is already underway for a new co-host to join Melanie Camp weekday mornings at 10 a.m. on 7 ABC.
The WKBW family wishes Linda a very happy retirement, and thanks her for the years of cherished memories.
