Registered dietician Kelly Springer has some tricks when it comes to healthy treats this Halloween. Kelly Springers says when we think of Halloween, we think of candy but she says Halloween does not need to be all about junk food. There are plenty of ways to get into the Halloween spirit by disguising some of your snacks that are healthier and nutritious. Kelly shows us ghost sticks made from string cheese, clementine Jack-o-lanterns, making bagel bites into spiders, as well as cutting cheese slices into pumpkins.
Chocolate milk is the official drink of Halloween. How did that come to be? Kelly says it’s because chocolate milk is scary delicious, has bone building calcium, nine essential nutrients, protein and much more. You can make a mummy glass of chocolate milk. Just wrap the glass with gauze and you can get the eyes in the baking section of the store.
