May is Women’s Health Month – Tips from Dr. Jessica Shepherd

Posted

May is recognized as Women’s Health Month and it is to focus attention on the issues facing women and often, they are issues that we don’t like to face ourselves, some of the more awkward issues. Women’s health expert, Dr. Jessica Shepherd regularly shares her expertise on Good Morning America and, also has been on AM Buffalo before. She is a practicing OB/GYN and she is the founder of online women’s health forum called Her Viewpoint.

Dr. Shepherd says we can be our best advocate to self-evaluate or start the conversation with a healthcare provider on how we can do best for our health especially when we want to invest in it for the future. She says that’s why I think it is so important to make sure we stop and take a look at where we are and how we can improve.

Dr. Shepard says there are a lot of topics that I think that women feel are taboo or shame or embarrassment about them but typically one of the things I discuss a lot in the office has to do with bladder leaks. She says with one in three women experiencing bladder leaks, the Poise ultra-thin with wings guarantees up to 100% clean dry fresh protection against bladder leaks. Dr. Shepherd says this is keeping women ten times dryer than the leading period pad, so the Poise brand thinnest pad now available with or without stay-in-place wings gives women the confidence to have fun with their family and friends without having to worry about bladder leaks.

When talking about our skin, Olay’s newest collection, the Fearless Artists series includes three beauty washes. They are designed by women of color with the unique needs of diverse skin types in mind, that deeply hydrate to nourish, restore and balance skin. She says the collection includes rich ingredients like cocoa butter, aloe and vitamin C.

Dr. Shepherd says Secret is designed with every woman in mind and the new Secret weightless dry spray provides 48 hours of sweat and odor protection with an instantly dry feel formula. She says these sprays are free of heavy waxes and alcohol and other residue leaving the underarms comfortable and protected.
