Mel says according to pretty much everyone she has spoken to in Buffalo there is something strange in the abandoned Central Terminal. Some of the children there say they weren’t going in. That’s just as well because the Buffalo Ghostbusters have more important spirits to raise. They are collecting donations toys for Toys for Tots. They are a local charity group who dress up like the Ghostbusters. They bring out their Ghostbusters cars and props. They usually have a tip jar out for taking photos. They have t-shirts, patches and pins that they sell that have their own custom logo that’s holding a chicken wing for Buffalo to raise money. Dan Liberg has been a ghostbuster for the past six years. He say’s being a big kid at heart and being able to give toys to kids in need at the holidays is just the best.
If you want to be a Buffalo Ghostbuster message them on their Facebook page. They have a husband and wife on the team and they also have a father and son on the team. Roxanne Farrell says she is the only lady on the team and likes to do a girly twist on it. Stay Puft is her sidekick. She said is just fun and they do a lot of charity work and that’s what she enjoys the most about it.
The pandemic has not stopped the Buffalo Ghostbusters from doing what they do best. They are going to take all the money they raised over the year from donations and sales of merchandise and go to a local shop usually Five Below and buy as many toys as they can. Dan Liberg says this year is going to be a pretty big year because amazingly this is their best year ever even with everything going on. He goes on to say they are going to be donating over $3,000 of toys this year.
