Today Dr. Christian Milioto, from the WNY Pain Relief and Integrative Wellness Center talks about chronic pain. Chronic pain is the result of long-lasting inflammation. Dr. Miliot says when you first experience pain in your back for instance you may notice some stiffness, some heat or pain; symptoms such as aching or throbbing. This is the sign of inflammation. Days of discomfort turn into weeks, months and sometimes, if left untreated, years. The pain begins to radiate into your hip and thigh calf and foot. He says you start to notice numbness, weakness in the legs, balance issues, trouble performing normal household duties. Those chronic symptoms now affect you on levels other than pain. You lose interest in going out, being social. Your pain keeps you from standing or walking short periods of time. Your sleep is affected.

Dr. Milioto says he is here to tell you there are ways you can prevent this from occurring or getting worse. He says the most important thing is to act. Don’t wait for the second or third time you back hurts. Don’t wait until that pain has taken your quality of life. Their office offers nonsurgical and non-drug related treatments that are backed by research. This means addressing your issues, your root cause that developed your chronic pain resolving them and eliminating them giving you back your life.
