There are some really good things going on at the Buffalo Zoo. The Zoo is open every Friday through Sunday and this weekend they are open Martin Luther King Day as well , and for all of January, members can have free hot chocolates at their Wild Burger . Lisa Thibault, Buffalo Zoo’s site program specialist says they have lots of different programs they do in their educational department. They have a wild workshop that is coming up this Saturday about artic animals. They also have Wild Weekend web shows which are about 45 minutes and you just see animals and it’s really cool say Thibault. They also do school programso. She says schools call up and they do virtual programs for them. The programs are all virtual through Zoom but they are interactive. Thibaut says we ask questions; we have the kids participating with them; getting up and moving and they always have a friend or two with them, so it is always fun.
Lisa Thibault says winter is a great time to visit the zoo because there aren’t as many people there and the animals are all pretty active. The polar bears and otters are crazy in the winter. The zoo still has a lot going on even though it slows down in the winter.
Reservations are required. The zoo is open from 10am – 4pm every Friday – Sunday and also on Martin Luther King Day.
