The General Motors plant in the Town of Tonawanda has a vision of zero emissions, zero congestion, zero crashes, and are pushing for an all electric future.
"We are trying to get to a world that has zero emissions, and it's green, Ram Ramanujam, GM Plant Director said. "Even though we make engines, we are looking to make sure the engines we make are the most environmentally friendly that we can."
There are three GM plants and 1600 employees at the facility that make many of the engines you find in Chevy and GMC model cars.
When it comes to hiring engineers, Ramanujam says he is looking to hire people that are excited to create innovative and efficient modes of transportation.
"We are trying to be environmentally conscious," Ramanujam said. "How do we leave this world a better place?"
Ramanujam says GM looks to hire all sorts of engineers, from environmental to mechanical to civil.
