A local grocery chain is looking to hire for its brand new store in Buffalo.
The future location of Dash's market will be on 1770 Hertel Avenue, and it's set to open Wednesday, which means there will be new job opportunities.
Applications can be found online, in stores and at 1726 Hertel Avenue.
"We hire a lot of the local adults and children to work in our facility. And they shop here, they work here, they have their breakfast, lunch and dinner here," said Mark Mahoney, president of Dash's Markets. "So we really do provide a full, flexible benefit for the whole community whether you work with us or just shop with us."
The new location will obviously have many of the existing features; fresh produce, deli department and a meat counter.
But shoppers can look forward to some new items as well.
One of the features of the new store is an expanded floral department, which will have a sushi station, pasta station and a pizza station.
The reason the local chain expanded is because the old store on Hertel Avenue was more than 47 years old.
"The store just had run its course, and we looked at expanding it. But the building needed a lot more work than just a simple re-model," said Mahoney.
