NEW YORK (WKBW) — The New York State Department of Labor (NYS DOL) announced as the state continues its phased reopening process, there are nearly 100,000 jobs available throughout the state.
The DOL says the jobs span all industries such as architecture, engineering, sales and transportation.
The job openings can be found by visiting the state's website here, the openings are sorted by region.
The Western New York region which includes Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties has over 8,000 job openings. The Finger Lakes region which includes Genesee, Wyoming and Orleans counties has over 11,000 job openings.
In the WNY region, the DOL says the following businesses have the most job openings posted:
- Catholic Health - 465
- Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center – 154
- Home Depot - 124
- University at Buffalo - 116
In the Finger Lakes region, the DOL says the following businesses have the most job openings posted:
- University of Rochester – 1,340 jobs
- Rochester Regional Health – 248 jobs
- Navient Solutions (Perry) – 200 jobs
- Autozone – 193 jobs

The DOL also announced it has paid nearly $25 billion in benefits to 2.9 million unemployed New Yorkers. Officials say this represents over 12 years of benefits paid in three and a half months.
