"Just in a few short months, we'll be open for the season. Summer is right around the corner," Director of Marketing at Fantasy Island, Doug Mandell, said.
That's why Fantasy Island is looking to fill 600 seasonal jobs ahead of its May 4th opening day.
Open positions include:

- Water park
- Admissions
- Games
- Retail
- Warehouse
- Food and beverage
- Cash control
- Maintenance
- Park services
"It takes a lot of people to run a theme park of our size and we need everyone to absolutely have a big smile on their face and be warm and welcoming to our guests," Mandell said.
Scheduling is flexible with hourly pay starting at minimum wage. Employees also get park perks including free tickets, discounts and eligibility for a company scholarship program.
"The great part about working at Fantasy Island is you're having fun helping people have fun," Mandell said.
Anyone 15 years or older can apply, but Fantasy Island isn't just looking for high school and college students to make-up its team. "This year we're putting a renewed focus on hiring a more mature candidate," Mandell added.
Over at Darien Lake in Genesee County, the Six Flags theme park is looking to fill 1,500 positions including:
- Admissions and guest relations
- Food services
- Ride operators
- Human resources
- Park services
- Games
- Retail
- Marketing and sales
- Accommodations/Lodging
- Lifeguards
- Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)
- Maintenance
- Security
- Warehouse
- Cash control
Darien Lake also offers employees "competitive pay, free park admission and free tickets" alongside flexibility in schedules. Those as young as 14 can apply to work at Darien.
Fantasy Island is holding open job fairs at 2400 Grand Island Boulevard on the following dates:
- Rehire event: March 16th from 11a.m.-3p.m.
- Job fair: March 20th from 9a.m.-12p.m.
- Job fair: March 23rd from 10a.m.-7p.m.
- Job fair: March 27th from 12p.m.-3p.m.
- Job fair: March 30 from 10a.m.-7p.m.
Darien Lake is hosting a hiring event at Six Flags Darien Lake's Lodge on the Lake on the following date:
- Hiring event: March 16th from 10a.m.-4p.m.
