Paddock Chevrolet is an institution on Delaware Avenue in Kenmore.
"We have been here this year for 84 years," Lauren Paddock said. She is the Vice President of Marketing and Operations. Paddock continued, "It's Paddock Chevrolet but we have Paddock service, Paddock parts, Paddock finance, Paddock new sales, Paddock used sales."
And all those departments add up to a variety of job opportunities. Right now the family-owned business is looking to hire 15-20 positions ranging from sales to technicians.
"We're always looking for someone who's process driven, ambitious and who comes to work to work."
Salaries depend on the position. Hourly workers can make anywhere from minimum wage to more than $20 an hour. Commission-based sales positions can earn $50,000 to as much as $150,000 a year.
Paddock Chevrolet has around 160 employees and Paddock says about a third of them are women, a number she wants to see grow.
"A lot of women think this is boys' club and it's not. We have a good family-oriented team culture here....I think women would do a lot of good work in an industry like this."
And Paddock says she feels the company is a place where employees can grow, too.
"This is your own business. Think about this as your an entrepreneur and you're just using our facility, our cars...but you're cultivating your own business."
