Looking for a way to help people? How about getting paid to do it? SASI is looking for care providers to fill job openings.
"It’s everything from taking them on day trips to helping them eat their meals, prepare their meals and even go to the bathroom, they need our help and we need people who are gonna work with them," said marketing specialist Matt Krueger.
SASI is an organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities. They serve more than 4,000 people, but struggle to find people work with them.
"We have people working overtime and we'd like to give them a bit of a break. They're great at what they do and they're very selfless, but they do need some help," said Krueger.
The job pays $13/hour, which is $2 more than the industry standard, according to Krueger. It includes benefits including heatlchare, paid time off and a 401k.
The qualifications are a high school diploma or a GED, a New York State driver's license and a passion for helping people.
"We're putting out a call to attract everybody who’s just coming out of high school or maybe you’re older and looking for a career change, you wanna make a personal difference in someone’s life and this is a great opportunity for you to do just that," said Krueger.
SASI is looking for as many people as they can find.
"We've got positions all over the place from Lancaster and East Aurora all the way down into Sardinia and Collins and into Cattaragus and Wyoming counties," said Recruitment Manager Mike Cleri.
Current Habitational Specialist Falicia Streebel says it's easy to move up the ladder.
"Very quickly you can become a residential supervisor or a supervisor at a day program and work your way up as you gain experience," said Streebel.
It's also very rewarding.
"My favorite part is seeing the smiles on their faces everyday," said Streebel.
