Ahead of the 2020 Census, the U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary workers for several positions in downtown Buffalo.

From 1-4 Tuesday afternoon at the Downtown Buffalo Library, people can apply for the following positions:

  • census takers
  • recruiting assistants
  • office staff
  • supervisory staff

These positions may require you to work weekends and evenings, as that's when most people are home; and include the following benefits:

  • competitive wages
  • weekly paychecks
  • flexible hours
  • paid training

Most of these positions require you to have a valid driver's license along with access to a vehicle or reliable public transportation, in addition to access to computer with a valid email address in order to finish training.

The Census Bureau will be recruiting from now through February 2020, and begin job offers and background checks in January 2020.

These jobs will take place from mid-March to July 2020.
