Lia Lando

Lia Lando is a Journalist at WKBW 7 News. She anchors and reports daily covering important stories in our community.

Lia is happy to finally be living and working full-time in Buffalo after numerous freelance positions over the past several years. You will often see Lia out reporting and anchoring from the community.

Lia is a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School. She spent her final semester of her senior year working at Dateline NBC in New York City.

Lia began her broadcasting career at WETM in Elmira and then moved to NYC where she worked at News 12 Westchester and acted in numerous shows including One Life To Live where she played the recurring role of Janelle. She has since acted in numerous other shows. After eight years in NYC she moved with her family back upstate to be closer to her parents.

Prior to coming to Buffalo Lia worked at 2 stations in Rochester where she anchored, reported, and produced. Before moving to Rochester, she lived in New York City for numerous years and worked as an anchor and reporter at News 12 Westchester. Lia also took a couple of breaks from TV to spend more time with her boys. She has 2 sons.

Lia is passionate about family and community, and when she's not bringing you the news, she enjoys running, spending time at Keuka lake, she also loves to sing (she sang the National Anthem at numerous sporting events including a Knicks/Spurs game and many SU games).

She also believes it's important to communicate and have an open dialogue about topics that impact all of our lives. That's why she's asking you to contact her with your story ideas, comments and concerns.
