KENMORE, N.Y. (WKBW) — What part of your life will you change this year?

For this week we're helping you jump out of your comfort zone and getting yourself out there.

Part of getting out of your comfort zone is by doing stuff in small doses," said Nicole Chumsky, a mental health counselor, and owner of Be Embodied in Kenmore. "Instead of just jumping off the diving board, start in the shallow end. It's also important that you have a focus. What do you want what is going to make your life more fulfilling?"

Chumsky says that one way to be more confident is through mindfulness, by taking time to meditate and listening to yourself.

Another tip is for you to actually find events to go to.

Chumsky recommends using social media to find different outings to check out.

"Showing your mastery and showing confidence by putting yourself in places you want to be and not some place you should be, like a networking event you don't want to go to," said Chumsky.

Another recommendation is the website Meetup.

It's a website where people post different events happening around Buffalo.

Facebook is another great site.

Or you can follow your town's chamber of commerce on Instagram for new businesses and things to do.

"Immerse yourself in that culture," Chumsky said. "Make sure you have the conversations you want to have and you have the interest, instantly you will."
