BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW — The Halal Guys opened their doors at 1595 Niagara Falls Boulevard last Friday. The iconic New York City street food vendor has become a house hold name in Manhattan. A main reason is because of the large lines that form on the sidewalks to get the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food.
"When you love something so much that you want other people to experience it," District Operator Melvin Quintanilla said.
With gyros, chicken, falafel, and of course their signature white sauce-- The Halal Guys have had their eye on opening up a store here in Buffalo for a while.
Halal food is the dietary standard in the Islamic faith. Right now, Muslims are celebrating the holy month of Ramadan. For 30 days, Muslims fast from sunrise until sunset and The Halal Guys are happy to provide a meal when the fasting is over.
"We have seen people here every single day right after 8pm, breaking their fast with us is super amazing and we feel very honored they have chosen us," Quintanilla said.
The Halal Guys are planning to open hundreds of stores across the country.
