LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) — Michele and Greyt Thuerck opened Lancaster's Broadway Deli on Broadway in Lancaster about fifteen years ago. Michele says "we spent a lot of time in New York, we love theate, and we always go to shows and we always had to make a stop at the Carnegie Deli."
The place has a theatrical flare from the Times Square type signs and show tunes that greet you before you are in the door to the playbills posted inside and reminders of current theatre productions and lots of actor head shots hanging in almost every free space. Many of the faces are familiar performers that have been seen on local stages.
The restaurant can make almost any menu item gluten free. That's been an important feature for the Thuerck daughters who were diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Lyndsey Thuerck-Hibbard says "my parents know how to make the customers feel safe." Her sister Alex adds "we have a Gluten Free Fish Fry-it's so good"
