BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — 'Tis the season for some holiday cocktails, and The Rusty Nickel Brewing Company christened its new location on this weekend on Broadway in downtown Buffalo with some festive holiday drinks.
"We have a lot of fun creating cocktails and some mixed drinks that are festive and holiday themed," says The Rusty Nickel manager Katie Brown.
You can enjoy some familiar options like a "Cotton-headed Ninnymuggins," made famous from the 2003 classic, "Elf."
"It's kind of like a snickerdoodle, kind of like eggnog," Brown says. "It's frothy and creamy, and it's got some spices to it, [and] brown sugar. It's [a] really fun cocktail," Brown says.
Everything is made with local spirits, like vodka from Lockhouse Distillery and Bar in Buffalo, and bourbon cream from Black Button Distillery, also in Buffalo.
Take Rusty Nickel's mulled wine for example, "it's warm and it has all of those feelings of Christmas like the cinnamon, and orange zest and apple," Brown says. "It puts everyone in the spirit make spirits bright literally, but it's a lot of fun."
