New Fair foods compete for top honors

It is an important competition at the Erie County Fair according to Marketing Manager Marty Biniasz because "the number one reason people come to the Fair is for the food and every year the new food is what really draws the crowd in."

Ten new menus item from Fair vendors went into a head to head competition. Local celebrity judges were able to taste and score each entry.

An early favorite was a Deep Fried Piggy Mac Taco from Jim's Taco. That was pulled pork, mac & cheese, coleslaw all inside a taco shell and then deep fried.Babcia's served up a Surf & Turf Pierogi and Big G's Food Service turned out Cowboy Nachos

The three finalists included a Loganberry Sundae from Dippin Dots, The Dirty Bird from Mineo & Sapio and the Apple Quesadilla From Jack's Delicious Fries.

Voting will continue with the public through August 16th.
