CLARENCE, NY (WKBW-TV) — The quaint little inn tucked away in Clarence Hollow is a welcome get away for guests from near and far. Robert Lenz bought the place about forty years ago, transformed it into an inn and then named it after an early settler of Clarence, Asa Ransom.

The Asa Ransom House is a piece of local history. Bob says "The brick part of the building goes back to 1853, we've improved upon it a little bit".

The inn feature ten rooms and each is decorated differently. "Each room has it's own unique feature, and each one has a porch or a balcony and nine of the rooms have fireplaces" says Bob.

As an innkeeper, Bob wears a lot of hats but says his favorite thing is to do landscaping and that he can usually be found "outside working on the grass and the flower beds."

Bob says that he has some guests that return year after year for as long as twenty-five and thirty years. He also points out that he gets a lot of visitors who are locals, saying "a lot of get a-ways from the kids, give the kids to grandma for the night."
