For decades, The Big Tree Inn has been one of the hot spots for Buffalo Bills fans and Bills players on game day.
Being steps from New Era Field the Bills home opener is the biggest day of the year for the small business. Almost 4,000 wings are ready to be enjoyed by the 12th man.
"We get excited we know it's going to be crazy," Patrick Abulone the Kitchen Manager at the Big Tree Inn said. "We know we are going to see the sea of red, white, and blue out here."
This neighborhood bar is iconic in Western New York. The place has a lot of history for both Bills fans and players.
Bills players are treated just like regulars added Abulone, "They take care of us and we try to take care of them as much as we can."
For this season, there has been some kitchen upgrades. New ovens and fryers have been added to help with the increase in wing and pizza orders.
A few characters will be missing for the start of Bills season as well. Wooden statues of Chris Berman, Jim Kelly, and Andre Reed greeted fans as they walked into the bar. Unfortunately, the statues have been removed due to rotting.
New ones are in the process of being made said Abulone, and a fourth one will also be added.
The Big Tree Inn is having the fans vote for a Bills player they would like to see as a wooden statue. The plan is to have the wooden guys back by the winter.
