Muggy Memorial Day nearing the record books

We'll be close to the record high for Memorial Day as temperatures rise into the mid-80s. On average the high temperature on Memorial Day is around 70F and the low is around 52F but this year we are much warmer than that. The warmest Memorial Day on record is from 1944 with a temperature of 87F (since the date changes every year).

The record high for May 25th is 86F set in 2012.

In a recent look back, 10 Memorial Days have been in the 80s since 1980, this year makes it 11 in the past 40 years.

Five of those 80 degree days have fallen within the last 10 years, since 2010!

It’s only rained twice in the past 15 years and has rained 11 times since 1980.

The Buffalo Airport already picked up .13" of rain with the threat of isolated storms this afternoon.
