New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that $26 million is now available for the Affordable Home Ownership Development Program.

The money can be used to make improvements to existing owner-occupied single or multi-family homes, condominiums, or cooperatives. The grants can also be used to acquire and rehabilitate owner-occupied homes for sale and construct new owner-occupied homes for sale.

"This administration is committed to helping more New Yorkers realize the American Dream of homeownership," Governor Cuomo said. "With this program, we are investing in the future of New York's communities, helping to secure a safer, fairer Empire State for all."

The program offers up to $40,000 per home to eligible municipalities, housing authorities and other not-for-profit and charitable organizations.
