Gas prices are closing out 2016 at their highest point of the year.
The New York State average is up four cents from last week at an average of $2.47 per gallon, the highest it has been all year. The state average a year ago was over 20 cents lower at $2.24.
The average in Buffalo sit at $2.40 as prices continue to rise because of market expectations of tighter availability after OPEC's deal to cut oil production beginning in January.
