Does the prospect of trying to find a parking spot in downtown Buffalo fill you with dread? Well, relief may be on the way.
City officials are now exploring the possibility of adding more than 750 metered parking spaces in the downtown area both North and South of Church Street.

These additional spaces would primarily be around popular hot-spots like Canalside and KeyBank Center.
"It's all about creating access," said Kevin Helfer of the City of Buffalo Parking Enforcement division.
Helfer says parking currently goes until 5PM, it is going to now be extended until 10PM. The City believes there will be more turnover and more availability if people have to pay longer.
"We're trying to create access, we're trying to create turnover and the only way to do that is to increase the hours," he said.
