7 things to do in Western New York this weekend: August 17th - August 19th

 The Great Buffalo Jewbilee

This festival is being billed as the first of its kind in Western New York. The Great Buffalo Jewbilee will take place at the Jewish Community Center and Temple Beth Zion on Delaware Avenue, between Summer and Barker, this Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All events are free. 

 

The Calspan Run The Runway

Ever dream about lacing up on an airport runway? Here's your shot! 

The Niagara Falls International Airport will play host to a 5K race Sunday. Athletes will compete on the airport's main 10,825-foot long runway. Registration runs from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. inside the main airport terminal. The race starts at 10 a.m. 

 

Party on the Portico

Why not party at one of Buffalo's most scenic places. Party on the Portico features live music, cash bar and prize drawings. This event happens at The Buffalo History Museum every third Friday of the month and goes from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

 

Shakespeare in the Park

The curtain closes on yet another successful Shakespeare in the Park season. You can Much Ado About Nothing Thursday through Sunday in Delaware Park. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is free.  

 

Jay-Z and Beyoncé OTR II Concert

It's arguably the concert of the year. Jay-Z and Beyoncé will take their talents to New Era Field Saturday. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available. Ticket prices start at $48. 

 

World's Largest Demolition Derby Afternoon Show

Hundreds of cars will smash each other to pieces Sunday at the Erie County Fair. The demolition derby starts at 1 p.m. Tickets cost $20. You can find tickets here

While you're at the fair, stop by and say hi to the WKBW crew in Tom Jolls Park. Sunday is the last day of the Erie County Fair. 

 

UniverSoul Circus

The circus is in town for one more weekend. The UniverSoul Circus will entertain you and the family at the Buffalo Outer Harbor. You can find tickets and show times here
