7 things to do in Western New York this weekend: October 12th - October 14th

We've got your fall plans covered this week.

There's plenty of fall-related activities to choose from this weekend right here in Western New York, including a train ride featuring fall foliage, a cider fest, even a "haunted food truck rodeo." 

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Hundreds of breast cancer survivors and volunteers will gather at Canalside to walk in support of saving lives in the fight against cancer. The 5K walk and run will start at 10 a.m. Saturday. You have to register to take part in the walk and 5K run.

7 Eyewitness News anchors Katie Morse and Ed Drantch will be on hand to emcee kickoff festivities. 

Fall Foliage Train Rides

What better way to take in the beautiful fall foliage than hopping on a train. This train ride lasts between two and three hours. Passengers will meet up at the Arcade and Attica Railroad. Tickets cost $19. Click here for a schedule of October train rides.   

Celebrate Halloween at the Buffalo Zoo

Kick-off the Halloween season with your friends at Buffalo Zoo Saturday and Sunday. Get a sugar rush at multiple trick-or-treat candy stations or hop on a hayride. Tickets are $15 per person for non-zoo members and $10 for zoo members. Children under 23 months are free. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m.

Octoberfest on the Elmwood Strip

This Oktoberfest happens to take place on one of the best strips in town. Many of your favorite shops, restaurants, and bars located in the Elmwood Village will be participating all weekend long. There will be many opportunities to join a bar and shop crawl, not to mention a farmers market and live music. The fun runs Friday through Sunday. For a schedule of events, click here

Explore Buffalo's Meat Raffle

Here's your chance to win some meat! Explore Buffalo is holding a meat raffle Friday at Pvt. Leonard Post, Jr. VFW off of Walden Avenue. Proceeds will go toward helping the organization teach and promote Western New York history and architecture. Doors open at 6 p.m. The first raffle starts at 7 p.m. It costs $5 to get in. 

Cider Fest at the Terrace at Delaware Park

We're entering peak fall season here in Western New York. So why not enjoy one of the many incredible tastes of fall in Delaware Park this Saturday! Local vendors will be on hand serving a wide variety of ciders and food that will make your mouth water. Cider Fest at the Terrace at Delaware Park runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. It costs $15 for seven tasting tokens. 

Haunted Food Truck Rodeo

It's Trick or Treat with food trucks. Spook yourself out at the Haunted Food Truck Rodeo in Lovejoy. You'll be able to tour The Iron Island Museum. Tickets cost $5. The Haunted Food Truck Rodeo goes from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
