Police say a man followed a school-aged girl in his car before exiting and following her on foot.
Though school was not in session Monday, it was close to dismissal time when the man started following the girl in his vehicle around 3 p.m. on Lafayette Street near Ashland. Police say the man followed her a short time before getting out of his car and following her on foot.
The man asked the girl if she was single, but made no other comments and didn't try to grab her.
The man was driving a black older four-door BMW and is described as black, 5'9" with a thin build, in his 20s and wore glasses.

Police want parents to be aware of this incident and to remind their children to be cautious while walking to or from school.
