Due to a Lake Effect snowstorm dropping feet of snow, Amtrak temporarily suspended service to and from Buffalo on Tuesday.
Wednesday night, Amtrak announced trains 63 and 64, the Maple Leaf, between New York City and Toronto will begin operating again on Thursday, subject to delays in the event of heavy snowfall.
However, Amtrak service between Albany-Rensselaer and Buffalo or Cleveland will remain suspended through Thursday afternoon, including Amtrak Empire Service and Lake Shore Limited trains scheduled through midday.
Trains north, earth and south of Albany-Rensselaer continue to operate and service between Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Chicago will be maintained by Amtrak Capitol Limited trains.
Amtrak and CSX railroad are working to restore service as soon as possible.
