The Angelo DelSignore Civic Building is expected to reopen Thursday morning. It closed today due to "building environmental issues" which turned out to be dust from a construction project.
Test results arrived late Tuesday afternoon indicating the dust material did contain traces of asbestos. The asbestos levels were determined by AMD Environmental Consultants to be less than 1 percent, which sits below the safety threshold set by the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. EPA.
The building will be closed Wednesday to allow time for proper clean-up. All court matters set for Wednesday at the DelSignore courthouse will be adjudicated at the Niagara Falls City Court on 1925 Main St.
