Friday morning, New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan is announcing state funding for the Buffalo Zoo's new Amphibian and Reptile Center.
He secured $300,000 in new state capital funding that will fund construction of the Center.
According to officials the Zoo is working to raise $3.7 million for the project and have received funding commitments from the City of Buffalo.
Ryan is joining officials from the Buffalo Zoo, including zoo Board Chair, Jonathan Dandes, President/CEO Norah Fletchall and new president emeritus of the zoo, Dr. Donna Fernandes to make the announcement.
The Amphibian and Reptile Center will be named after Dr. Fernandes.
