A Batavia teen is recovering after being stabbed by a classmate on Saturday.

According to Batavia Police, officers responded to a fight in the 100 block of Ross Street and found 17-year-old Raymond Leach inside a home with multiple lacerations.

Police say 18-year-old Antwan Odom has been charged in connection to the stabbing.

Leach told police a fight started after he accused Odom of stealing personal property.

Leach was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries and was released a short time later.

Police say Odom was taken to UMMC for medical treatment after his arrest.

Odom is charged with first degree attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and taken to the Genesee County Jail.

Odom is scheduled to appear in Batavia City Court at a later date.

According to The Batavian, Leach is the star running back for Batavia High School and Odom is a teammate and top athlete at the school.
