Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly gave a thumbs-up as he headed into surgery in New York City on Wednesday.
Kelly's wife, Jill, posted the picture on Instagram with the message indicating this should be the former Q.B.'s final surgery.
Kelly is battling a recurrence of oral cancer and has undergone several surgeries over the past few years.
In June Kelly was awarded the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles. The award, named after legendary college basketball coach Jimmy Valvano, is given each year to a deserving member of the sports community to who has overcome tremendous obstacles through determination.
