Boomerang! New exhibit opens at Buffalo Zoo

Posted

The Buffalo Zoo is kicking off summer 2018 with a brand new interactive exhibit --
Boomerang Island: Birds from Down Under.

Boomerang Island features more than 300 birds native to the Australian Outback including budgies, cockatiels, Princess of Wales parrots, superb parrots and kookaburras.

This new exhibit allows you to get up close and personal with the friendly, colorful and free-flying birds inside a 1,200 square foot custom built aviary. You can even feed the birds a special treat.

“Not only is Boomerang Island a fun and interactive experience, it is a tremendous
opportunity for our guests to learn about the important role birds play in our world, said
Norah Fletchall, President and CEO of the Buffalo Zoo. Birds are everywhere and we
can all play a role in protecting species that enrich our lives now and for future
generations.”

Boomerang Island is only for a limited time during the summer season. The Buffalo Zoo is open daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
