“It's a huge thing. We wouldn't be here today if he hadn't done what he did,” said Patricia Fitzpatrick.

The Fitzpatrick family will never forget March 2nd, 2017.

“Dustin was in the car,” said Patricia. He’s five.

“Alone,” Dustin chimed in.

“She got out of the car and the car started rolling backwards,” remembered Hayden Fitzpatrick. The 15 year old is a Boy Scout.

There was a problem with the car. It wouldn't stay in park and was rolling back towards a busy road.
Hayden, stepped in.

“I heard her scream and I ran to the car,” said Hayden.

He went back to his first aid training he learned in the scouts.

“One of the things that I remember is just act fast,” added Hayden.

He jumped in, stopped the car, and saved his brother.

For his bravery, Hayden was awarded one of the highest honors among Boy Scouts, the Honor Medal.

“I'm very proud of him,” said Patricia.
