Nine people displaced after fire rips through two Niagara Falls homes

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Nine people have been displaced following a large fire in Niagara Falls early Wednesday morning.

The Niagara Falls Fire Department tells 7 Eyewitness News it started at a house on 20th Street just after 1:15 a.m. and it quickly spread to a neighboring house.

Both Niagara Falls fire and police crews were called out. The roads in the area of the 400 block of 20th Street were blocked off as they worked the fire. The scene was cleared and the roads in the area were reopened by 5:30 a.m.

The American Red Cross is helping one person who was displaced from the house where the fire started. Eight others were displaced from the second house. The Red Cross is helping two people from that home.

No one was hurt in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
