"Our differences don't divide us they unite us," a slogan Alexa Zappia implements with her Rocks of Unity campaign.
The St. John Fischer College senior dreamed the idea of an educational workshop that would bring people together and made it a reality.
"We may look similar, we may act similar, but at the heart of it every rock is different and they may not go together," Zappia used her parallel as an inspiration for Rocks of Unity.
She was able to get 700 people expressing themselves through decorating rocks, 2,000 people in total since January.
Now, these rocks are a permanent installation in her school. There's plans to do it all again next year.
It's caught on through social media, enlisting celebrities like Teresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium to help the cause.
