Mayor Byron Brown said Buffalo's Ball Drop will be bigger than ever to ring in 2016.
"This year with Buffalo Place partnering with us and other new sponsors joining existing sponsors, the Ball Drop will be bigger and better than ever," said Brown.
This year's opening act is Nashville star Jennifer Lindsey. "I'm just really excited," said Lindsey. "This is going to be my first year. It's going to be really fun."
The night's festivities will also include a performance from western New York native Caitlin Koch. "We have some new music for you that evening that we will be releasing, that I've been working really, really hard on in Nashville so I'm really excited about that," said Koch.
The Ball Drop is in its 28th year and Channel 7 is proud to sponsor the tradition so many look forward to year after year.
"Together we can seize 2016 and make it a wonderful year for our area," said Mike Nurse, General Manager of WKBW-TV.
Channel 7's Katie Morse, Ed Drantch, and Mike Randall will team up with 97Rock's DJ Jickster to host the celebration.
