A Buffalo man is facing felony animal cruelty charges.
Investigators say Santiago Morales severely beat this small, five pound dog .
SPCA officials say the dog was in bad shape when she was surrendered to the agency, earlier this week.
But, the Erie County SPCA released updated photos today, showing the dog is on the road to recovery.
Morales is due in court next month.
