A 19-year-old Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to attempted murder charges for trying to shoot a police officer, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors say Andre Fuller was seen running from the scene of a robbery on Doat Street and Stewart Avenue in June, when a Buffalo police officer tackled him to the ground after a chase.
According to prosecutors, Fuller had a loaded .45 caliber handgun and pressed the gun into the officer's chest and pulled the trigger. The weapon did not fire. Another officer was able to knock the weapon from Fuller's hand and the suspect was handcuffed.
Officials say Fuller faces 15 to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in January.
Fuller was taken to jail without bail.
