Buffalo Police remind public that idle vehicles can result in ticket

Leaving an idle vehicle in the City of Buffalo could result in a ticket and Buffalo Police want to remind you of that this winter season.

BPD officials said at least four or five stolen vehicles in the last few months occurred because the vehicle was idled. They added that at least half of those vehicles stolen had a child inside at the time.

Although this isn't a new idea, recent incidents have led the department to remind the public that if a car is running with the keys inside, the owner is subject to a vehicle and traffic summons.

Those with an automatic start vehicle won't face a ticket.
