Finishing touches are now underway on the lodge at Buffalo River Fest Park.
Today, officials from the Valley Community Association showcased the progress along Ohio St., on the banks of the Buffalo River.
"I think this building identifies what Buffalo is all about," Executive Director Peg Overdorf said.
Once complete, the lodge will include a restaurant, public lavatories, and historical displays. It will serve dinners on Friday, as well as lunch and brunch Wednesday through Sunday.
"The gables on the roof are railroad-designed with double chimneys, so we're blending in shipping and railroads into the decorations around the building."
The site is set to be the next big destination on the city's waterfront. It's set for a full public grand opening this May.
