While most Western New Yorkers will be looking up at the sky Monday, the Buffalo Zoo will be watching how the animals respond to the solar eclipse.
Zoo officials are asking people visiting the zoo at the time of the eclipse to share their pictures and videos with them on social media.
“We are unsure how our animals will respond to the eclipse, but animals are always adapting to changes in nature,” said Norah Fletchall, Buffalo Zoo President and CEO, adding “it will definitely be a learning experience for us to see their behavior changes, if any, when the light level is reduced.”
You can share photos with the zoo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
