A Town of Chautauqua bus driver is facing endangering the welfare of a child charges.
Police say 58-year-old Edward Farnsworth put a child's welfare at risk during an afternoon bus run for the Chautauqua Lake School District.
Farnsworth was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Chautauqua court at a later date.
The district released the following statement:
Chautauqua Lake Central School District officials are aware that a substitute bus driver for the district is accused of endangering the welfare of a child after an alleged incident in April. The individual has not driven a bus for the district since the district learned of the allegation.
Immediately upon learning of the allegation, district administrators reported it to law enforcement, and have cooperated with the law enforcement investigation.
Because this is a personnel matter, district officials cannot have any further comment.
