A summer destination on Grand Island has a new owner.
Apex Parks Group has purchased Martin's Fantasy Island from former owner Martin DiPietro. It marks the second amusement park owned by the group, which also operates family entertainment centers and water parks in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, and Indiana.
DiPietro, who bought the park 22 years ago, says it has been "a labor of love." He says the group's unmatched track record leaves him confident that they are the best choice to operate Martin's Fantasy Island.
There is no word on whether Apex Parks Group will be adding any new attractions to the amusement park. In a statement, CEO Al Weber Jr. said, "We’re excited to work with the Martin’s team to continue the successful operation of Martin’s Fantasy Island. The addition of this beautiful family-niche park is another step toward Apex’s goal of growing to become the leading company in the fragmented out-of-home entertainment business."
Martin's Fantasy Island opens for the season on May 14. Operations will continue as normal as the ownership of the park transitions.
