The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday morning the death of one of its deputies.
Deputy Kevin Link was returning home from a run when it appears that he succumbed to a medical event, according to Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace.
"I ask that you keep his wife Kelly and their family in your thoughts and prayers," said Gerace. "This is a very difficult time for her and we need to help the Link family through the days ahead."
The Sheriff's Office will announce arrangements as soon as they are finalized.
