AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — A hotel in Amherst has been turned into an isolation site as the need for COVID-19 patients to be quarantined in Western New York grows.
The Fairfield Inn on Rensch Road is being used by Erie County to room individuals who either do not have access to a residence or whose residence is "not appropriate for quarantine or isolation".
The people who are being housed there are doing so with a referral from their healthcare provider and in coordination with the Erie County Department of Health. The hotel is not accessible to the public until further notice.
The property is owned by Ellicott Development who deferred comment to the Department of Health.
